We cannot stand four more years of this!

In his first speech as the Democrat VP candidate, Biden said, " We cannot stand four more years of this!"  I agree completely.

We cannot stand four more years of Obama, Biden, Pelosi and Reid!

We cannot stand four more years of not drilling for our own oil!

We cannot stand four more years of blocking the appointment of Judges who don't believe in legislating from the Bench!

We cannot stand four more years of claims that we have lost in Iraq!

We cannot stand four more years of plans for higher taxes on the American people!

We cannot stand four more years of  plans to socialize our health care!

We cannot stand four more years of attacks on Bush and Cheney for defending our country!

We cannot stand four more years of appeasing terrorists and trying to undo the safeguards that have
been put in place to prevent another 9/11!

We cannot stand four more years of big Lawyers and Big Unions standing in the way of reforms which would help our economy
and provide jobs!

We cannot stand four more years of environmentalists dictating our energy policies!

We cannot stand four more years of blocking school choice!

I never thought that I would agree with a Democrat, but Biden hit the nail on the head yesterday.

Should McCain pick a homeless person for VP?

The Democrats are still counting McCain's houses.  The latest number is ten.   To make up for his abundance of abodes, I think that McCain should pick a VP who does not own a home or even better, someone who is homeless at the moment.  This would be a brilliant choice, as it would provide balance to the ticket and the homeless vote is still up for grabs.

I'm sure there is a "down and out" Republican somewhere that McCain could pick, who would satisfy the Democrat's claim that John is too rich and prosperous for the job of POTUS.

Volunteers are needed immediately.   Excellent salary.  Home and transportation are included.

Pelosi's radio address signals Democrats are open to offshore drilling. Don't believe her!

Pelosi's radio remarks today indicated that Democrats are budging on the issue of drilling. She criticized Republicans' "drill only" plan, and said,

"This comprehensive Democratic approach will ensure energy independence which is essential to our national security, will create millions of good paying jobs here at home in a new green economy, and will take major steps forward in addressing the global climate crisis."      Democrats open to offshore drilling

Republican leaders called Pelosi's proposal a ruse, and it certainly is. What we need are Republican majorities once again so that we won't have to go with Pelosi's plan. I know I'm dreaming, but why can't we get out and vote for everyone with an "R" behind their name?

Yes, some of them might not be 100% conservative Republicans, but they are better than 100% liberal Democrats. Once we get strong Republican majorities, then we can quibble about the RINOs and vote them out.

The future of America is at stake. With Democrats in charge, we will become a Third World Country, while China, Brazil, Russia, etc., surpass us!

Rush, I'm kicking you out of the house, for good this time.

I have kicked you out before, but I always took you back. This time you've gone too far with your comments about Elizabeth Edwards. She is not to blame for her husband's cheating. I could have gone along with you about the fact that she knew of his womanizing and stood by him and denied the rumors, while both of them sought higher Office. She lied too, as she campaigned by his side knowing about his lies.

My problem with you is that you are no longer a shining representative of what conservatism stands for. In fact, you have become bloated by your own ego and use language and symbolism that is vulgar, just like your comments about why you think that Edwards sought female companionship outside of his marriage.

You have become an embarrassment, like the relative at the dinner table who talks on and on, and one never know what kinds of things will come out of his mouth. You give the media fodder for their attacks on Republicans while, to quote you, "Those on the other side are in the process of destroying themselves."

It is with regret that I have come to this decision, and I will miss some things about you. We are no longer compatible.

Hasta la vista, Baby.

Martin Luther King, a Republican?

If you haven't had a chance to read the following article, it is worth taking a few minutes to check it out. It was written by Frances Rice.

"It should come as no surprise that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican. In that era, almost all black Americans were Republicans. Why? From its founding in 1854 as the anti-slavery party until today, the Republican Party has championed freedom and civil rights for blacks. And as one pundit so succinctly stated, the Democrat Party is as it always has been, the party of the four S's: Slavery, Secession, Segregation and now Socialism."

Another interesting paragraph that jumped out at me states: "Democrat President John F. Kennedy is lauded as a proponent of civil rights. However, Kennedy voted against the 1957 Civil rights Act while he was a senator, as did Democrat Senator Al Gore, Sr. And after he became president, John F. Kennedy was opposed to the 1963 March on Washington by Dr. King that was organized by A. Phillip Randolph who was a black Republican. President Kennedy, through his brother Attorney General Robert Kennedy, had Dr. King wiretapped and investigated by the FBI on suspicion of being a Communist in order to undermine Dr. King."

I've never understood why black Americans vote in block for Democrats and apparently this year polls indicate numbers as high as 98% of blacks will vote for Obama. Another shocker is that Colin Powell will possibly endorse Obama for President. Bill Crystal has recently reported on this even though Powell is denying the accuracy of Crystal's sources.

The Democrats and the MSM have done an excellent job of painting Republicans as racists. I am very happy to see the NBRA (National Black Republican Association) working to dispel this ugly stereotype. They are putting up billboards all over the country stating that Martin Luther King Was A Republican. Billboards

As Republicans we have to do more to educate the public on the history of the Republican Party and it's involvement in the anti-slavery movement.

I did have sex with that woman.

Senator Edwards admits to having had sex with that woman, after denying it during his presidential bids and again recently when he was caught fleeing a hotel at 3 a.m.

As some have suggested, this should not hurt his chances of being the Vice-Presidential pick for the Democrat Party.  After all, everyone lies about sex.  He didn't want to hurt his wife who has cancer.  He was protecting her and his family.  Isn't that what every married womanizer should do?

Former Clinton adviser, Lanny Davis said, "I feel an overwhelming sense of sadness and sympathy for John Edwards and for Elizabeth Edwards and their family at this horrible intrusion on them during a time of great difficulty."

When Democrats get caught in lies and cheating, it's an intrusion on their private lives and they should be pitied.  We all know what happens to a Republican who happens to tap his foot in a public restroom.

Obama fatigue

Remember when after 8 years of Clinton there was Clinton fatigue? It had been all about Clinton all of the time. 8 years of scandals.  The country had been focused on Clinton everyday. He was the news. And, no matter what Clinton did, the media and the Democrats stood behind him. While scandals and gossip occupied our thoughts, people were planning Sept. 11.

President Bush took the oath of office and went to work. He didn't care about being the hot topic of the day. He wanted to get things done, and wasn't concerned about who got the credit. He didn't get in our faces everyday defending himself from the attacks by the media and the Democrats. He has been harshly criticized by conservatives for not defending himself. But he wasn't like Clinton, it was never about him, it was about the country and Bush went about doing the country's business.

Today, President Clinton is one of the most admired men in the world, and President Bush is the most hated man in the world. Now the question is: What do we really want in a President?

It seems that Obama is another Clinton, even bigger. Once again, he is the news. It's Obama mania all of the time. However, polls have recently indicated that Obama fatigue is setting in. Could it be that Americans are discovering that we don't want the most popular man in the world to be our President?

I hope that the answer is YES!

Wal-Mart and America.

It has been extremely hot in Texas and yesterday was no exception, it went up to 108. I had to leave the comfort of my air conditioned home and drive to Wal-Mart because I was completely out of food.

Once there, I remembered that I needed a mattress cover. There weren't many in King size, but I found one for $44.95. That was a little more than I had wanted to spend, but it was nice and thick so I went ahead and bought it.

I was dripping wet after packing all my groceries into the car, and walking the shopping cart back to the cart area. It was a little before noon. When I got home, I unloaded the groceries that needed to go into the refrigerator, and went upstairs to shower and change clothes. I could get the rest of my purchases out of the car later. They wouldn't get too hot in the garage.

Late in the afternoon I went back out and unloaded what was left. Around 7 p.m. I was eating dinner when I thought about the mattress cover. I didn't remember seeing it when I was unloading the rest of my purchases. I rushed into the garage, looked in the trunk of my car and to my utter dismay, it wasn't there. That's when I remembered that I had put it on the lower rack of the shopping cart. Oh, no.... I had left it there in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

I put the rest of my dinner in the refrigerator and rushed back to Wal-Mart, feeling very foolish. I didn't think that it would still be there, but I drove by the carts to look anyway. It wasn't. Then I thought that maybe an employee had come out to pick up the carts soon after I had left, and might have turned it in. I didn't have much hope of that, but I got out of the car, went in and told the person up front what had happened. She said that if anyone had turned it in, it would be at the Customer Service desk.

While I was waiting in line, I told two women who were ahead of me what had happened. The younger one said that she had worked at Wal-Mart and suggested that I could say that I had gotten home without it, not mention that I had left it in the shopping cart, and they would probably let me go get another one.

I told her that I wouldn't feel comfortable lying about it, so we started glancing around to see if we could see it. That's when she spotted something in a shopping cart with other items that had been returned. We went over and looked, and sure enough it was there. I couldn't believe it! As it turned out, a woman had seen the cart with the mattress cover still in it, out in the parking lot, and had taken the cart inside and turned it over to a clerk.

As I was driving home with my mattress cover, I thought about that good woman and said a prayer for her. I couldn't help but have pride in a fellow American who would take the time to do such a thing for someone she didn't even know. Then I realized, she represents the true American. The one who works hard, plays by the rules and shops at Wal-Mart.  People like her are the ones that make America great.  And, they will be voting in November.  Maybe there is hope for the future of our nation after all.

Should we tax the rich to pay for health care for the poor?

This past week on a local talk station, a black business owner called in and said that he is extremely concerned about Obama's plan for tax increases on the rich. He said, "I've worked hard all these years and finally own my own business and am proud to be making over $250,000. I don't think it's fair that I fork over a big portion of my income to Obama and the Democrats to pay for health care for everyone."

Obama's plan will also raise capital gains taxes. This will affect all of the baby boomers who will be retiring and may want to sell their homes or other assets. Plus, they will begin withdrawing money from their 401(k's,) and under Obama will pay higher tax rates, because they are also considered rich by the Socialist Democrats. These baby boomers have worked hard all their lives. Why should they have to pay more taxes because they were smart enough to invest, realizing that social security won't be enough for them to live on, or might even go broke?

The Democrat's answer to everything is tax increases on the rich. But they don't stop there. They want to roll back the Bush tax cuts, which will result in one of the biggest tax increases in our history. Everyone who pays taxes will be affected, not only the "so called" rich. Our economy recovered from a recession and from the attacks of 9/11 to a large extent due to Bush's tax cuts.

The country seems to be ready for "change" under Obama and the Democrats. The only real change will be our "change" going into their pockets. I wish that everyone could have heard the call from the small business owner. He is not rich. He is the kind of American who works long hours and provides jobs for other Americans. People like him are the people that Hillary, Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Obama, the "real rich," consider rich.

They want more of his money so that they can implement more government programs to create their dream of the perfect Nanny State. They will only succeed if we let them!

Obama now says he might support offshore drilling.

As the Democrat Congress heads home without producing an energy bill, Obama shifts to a new position.

The AP reports today: "Shifting from his previous opposition to expanded offshore drilling, the Illinois senator told a Florida newspaper he could get behind a compromise with Republicans and oil companies to prevent gridlock over energy." Obama might be for it after he was against it

Well, how convenient. It's too bad he didn't announce his shift in position before today. Would this have changed Nancy's mind?

Obama has taken a pounding from McCain and Republicans for his position against offshore drilling, and some say that this has brought his poll numbers down.

If McCain keeps up the pressure, Obama might just change parties before it is all over.

African-American pro-lifers. Why don't we hear more about them?

Polls indicate that at least 90% of black Americans will vote for Barack Obama, who is pro all abortions. The article below from the Wall Street Journal, by By WILLIAM MCGURN is very interesting.

It would seem that everyone that values the life of the unborn should consider the fact that a President Obama would appoint the next Supreme Court Justices and babies in the womb would continue to killed for years to come.

McGurn reports on July 15th, 2008:

"Yesterday was not business as usual at the 99th annual conference for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. For one thing, the first African-American to head the presidential ticket of a major party was on hand."

"Yet there was another interesting appearance that went mostly unmentioned. This was a protest by African-American pro-lifers, many NAACP members, who can't understand why America's most venerated civil rights organization turns a blind eye to what they say is the abortion industry's practice of targeting poor minority neighborhoods."

"And these folks include Dr. Alveda King, a niece of the Rev. Martin Luther King who says she knows what abortion does to a woman  because she had two of them before her change of heart.  'I remember when I was pregnant and considering a third abortion,'  she says.  'I went to Daddy King [her grandfather and Martin Luther King's father]. He told me, 'that's a baby, not a blob of tissue.' "

"Unfortunately, 14 million African-Americans are not here today because of legalized abortion. It's as if a plague swept through America's cities and towns and took one of every four of us."
African American pro lifers

I would love to welcome African American pro-lifers into the Republican Party. The value of the life of the unborn is one issue that can unite us. There are many other issues as well: tax cuts, school choice, protecting our homeland, drilling for our own oil to lower gas prices and remove our dependency on foreign oil, etc.....

What ever happend to "gravitas?"

When President Bush ran for president the first time, the word "gravitas" was used by the entire media to refer to what they perceived as his lack of experience and substance. "Gravitas" was even chosen as the word of the day on March14th, 2000. word of the day

Why haven't we heard the word again in this campaign? Senator McCain has plenty of gravitas and Senator Obama has very little of it.

D.D. Myers, President Clinton's former Press Secretary, said recently: "Senator Obama doesn't have to be perceived as a better Commander in Chief, he just needs to be perceived as a credible Commander in Chief."

How different things are when the person lacking gravitas is a Democrat. The media is working overtime to give Mr. Obama gravitas. This was abundantly clear when the three major Broadcast Networks accompanied the Junior Senator to Iraq, to evaluate the situation on the ground, even though he had already given his Iraq speech and had proclaimed Iraq a failed war which he will end.

Can the media build a resume for a candidate who lacks gravitas? They are certainly trying. The European trip was evidence of that.  By the end of the campaign many Americans will have been misled into perceiving Senator Obama as not only a credible Commander in Chief, but the better one for America as well.

Obama, The Greatest Story Never Told?

The Times (UK) July 25, 2008, Gerard Baker:

"And it came to pass, in the eighth year of the reign of the evil Bush the Younger (The Ignorant), when the whole land from the Arabian desert to the shores of the Great Lakes had been laid barren, that a Child appeared in the wilderness.

The Child was blessed in looks and intellect. Scion of a simple family, offspring of a miraculous union, grandson of a typical white person and an African peasant. And yea, as he grew, the Child walked in the path of righteousness, with only the occasional detour into the odd weed and a little blow...."
The story continues

You may have already seen this. If not, check it out. It's great! It was emailed to me by the (NBRA,) National Black Republican Association. NBRA

What about Obama?

One phrase jumped out at me in Obama's speech in Berlin yesterday. He introduced himself saying, "I know that I don't look like the Americans who've previously spoken in this great city."

Mr. Obama's statement presumes that people in Europe have never seen a black American in a position of power. I hate to break this to Mr. Obama, but two of the most powerful people in the world, Colin Powell, our former Secretary of State, and Condaleeza Rice, our current Secretary of State, are black Americans. Both have traveled the world, meeting and negotiating agreements with Heads of State from every country. They have never presented themselves as looking different from other Americans. Either one of them could run for President of the United States if he or she chose to.

So, Mr. Obama, try to win the Presidency by the content of your character, not by the color of your skin.
